The Girl Who Cried Pearls (2025) is a haunting fable about a girl overwhelmed by sorrow, the boy who loves her, and how greed leads good hearts to wicked deeds.

The Baltimorons: An Interview w/ Michael Strassner
Monday Feb 09, 2026
Monday Feb 09, 2026
They found themselves. Together. In Baltimore.
A newly sober man's Christmas Eve dental emergency leads to an unexpected romance with his older dentist as they explore Baltimore together.
That's the tagline for The Baltimorons (2025), one of my ten favorite movies from last year. I had the chance to sit down with the co-writer and star, Michael Strassner, to talk about some of his comedic influences, how his life shaped the film's story, and what the journey has been like seeing the film connect with so many people.
The Baltimorons is up for multiple awards at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Sunday, February 15th.

And the winners are...2007 Revised Oscars
Monday Feb 02, 2026
Monday Feb 02, 2026
I took a deep dive into 2007, along with special guests Frankie Sparks & Scott Eisenberg from Shoot the Flick, and after the episode we turned the voting over to you, the people!
We agreed with one of the Academy's wins that year (Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men), so only five categories went to the social media polls for you, the listeners to decide on.
The voting has concluded and it's time to share the results and officially add these winners to the coveted Revisionist's Almanac.
With this episode cycle completed, we turn our attention to episode twenty-six, where I was joined by three wild ones from down under - James, Maddie, and Nick from I Was a Teenage Film Snob - to dissect the year 1987 (The Last Emperor winning Best Picture). This episode will release on Friday, February 6th.
Thanks for checking out the voting results and be sure to subscribe to the channel and rate/review the show!
