On The Revisionist's Almanac, Andrew and rotating guests dive deep into the Oscars to see which winners have stood the test of time, and which haven't.
Andrew is heading back to the start of the millennium, to the 73rd Academy Awards, and he's bringing Christina Jeurling Birro from Pop Culture Confidential with him to debate Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Erin Brockovich, Gladiator, Traffic, and more! And even though he couldn't join the episode, Jeff Rauseo was originally set to be a guest, and his contributions were worked in throughout.

Reel Arguments: The Last (Scott) Duel
Friday May 29, 2026
Friday May 29, 2026
It's time for a brand-new addition to the RevAlmanac channel!
Reel Arguments is a series that will cover a specific topic in a 2v2 battle where each team will make their case for why their side of the argument is correct. Your job: to act as the jury and decide who made the better, more convincing points.
For this pilot episode, we put two directorial legends and brothers against one another - Ridley Scott v. Tony Scott.
Heather Stewart and Simon from Movie the Needle defended Ridley, while Andrew and Carl from Movie the Needle defended Tony.

Beautiful, Pam (2026) follows a Queer sex-worker, named Pam, in the midst of a mid-life crisis during the week of their son’s 18th birthday.
This 63-minute film is the creation of the ultra-talented J.R. Stokes, his second feature length project. I sat down to talk with J.R. about his backstory, his New York roots, and about all the things that go into pulling off a great independent film like Beautiful, Pam.

We talked about A24's The Drama, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, several other notable April watches including Undertone, Heather's first-time seeing Barry Lyndon and Unforgiven, and more.
